Know when it turned, and what happened around it
A timeline shows how the mood moved week by week, so you see exactly when it turned. When your topic is in the news, we add a news coverage section at no extra cost: how much was written, in which outlets and when. You don't need to order it, and you can set the coverage against the online mood.
Every analysis is an interactive report site with charts and tables you can explore. On subscription plans you can embed any chart or table in your own article or on your own website with one line of code, always credited to Public Mood.
Real voices, safely quoted
Up to three short anonymised quotes, one supportive, one neutral and one critical. We never show usernames of private individuals, and we only use public content.
Easy to share and easy to question
Each analysis comes as its own password-protected report site with a chatbot that answers follow-up questions, plus a PDF. On subscription plans you can also embed charts and tables on your own site.
Three steps from question to conclusion

FAQ
Questions
What is online sentiment analysis?
Online sentiment analysis measures what people say in public online conversations about a topic, whether posts are critical, supportive or neutral, and how that mood shifts over time. Public Mood delivers it as a finished analysis for newsrooms.
Does this show what the public thinks?
No. It is an online mood reading: we measure online sentiment in posts from people who post publicly, and it does not show what everyone thinks. Results describe analysed posts, for example "69% of stance-taking posts were critical", never "69% of people think".
Why is there no margin of error?
A margin of error only applies when the people behind the numbers are a cross-section of everyone. Online posts come from people who chose to post, so a margin of error would be misleading. We do show 95% intervals around shares and differences; they show only the statistical uncertainty in a number among the analysed posts, and they say nothing about people who did not post. Instead we show how many posts were analysed per platform, the period, and the limits of what the analysis can show. Every analysis has sources of error, and we always do our best to state them.
Which platforms do you cover?
All platforms are included in every package. Tell us which platforms and which period you need, or leave it to us: we pick the right mix for each topic: X, Reddit, YouTube, TikTok and Google Trends as the core; Facebook (public pages and public posts only) and Instagram (public comments on public accounts and hashtags); Threads, Bluesky, Truth Social (public posts and replies, mainly for US politics and topics around Donald Trump), public Telegram and Discord channels; LinkedIn for business topics; Twitch live chat, when it fits the topic, for minute-by-minute sentiment during live events.
Do you include private groups or messages?
No. We only analyse publicly available content: posts and comments anyone can see without being invited. Private messages, private profiles, closed groups and private channels are never included, on any platform.
How fast do I get my analysis?
Most analyses are delivered within 24 hours on working days. In special cases it can take up to three working days. Working days (Monday to Friday) are counted from when we approve your request, and your customer page shows the expected delivery date, which is the latest date.
