Changelog
What changed on Public Mood
Newest first. Times are Copenhagen time (CET or CEST)
Pages for newsrooms under How it works
In the top menu, How it works now opens a short list with For newsrooms and News coverage analysis. How it works itself still takes you to its page.
Shorter footer, more in the About menu
The footer now has eight links: Method, Register, About, Contact, Press, Resources, Terms and Privacy. The changelog and the system status page have moved to the About menu, next to About us, Compare, Method, Glossary and Resources.
More tools on the Resources page
The Resources page now lists four tools: Breev Meetings, Premium Affiliate, PersonAIble and Mangools. Links that are affiliate links are marked “Affiliate link”, and a note on the page explains what that means. The page can now be found in search engines.
Every analysis is fingerprinted and timestamped at delivery
Every analysis we deliver gets a digital fingerprint (SHA-256) of its PDF, its data file and a locked copy of its report page. Two independent timestamp services, DigiCert and Sectigo, timestamp the fingerprints under the open RFC 3161 standard. The fingerprints and receipts are listed in our new public register, with a short guide to checking them. Corrections are added as separate, timestamped notes, and the original analysis is never changed. The timestamp proves that an analysis is unchanged since delivery, not that it is right.
Choose your own platforms and period
Our pages now say clearly that you can tell us which platforms and which period you need, or leave it to us. If you leave it to us, we pick the platforms that matter for your topic and analyse the last 30 days, or from the event onwards, up to 12 months back. The FAQ, How it works, the comparison pages and the chat say the same.
New Resources page
A new Resources page lists tools we find useful for newsrooms, comms teams and anyone who works with what people say online. The first tool is Breev Meetings. You find the page under About in the menu and next to Press in the footer.
Press link in the footer
The footer has a new Press link to our media room on Pressranger, with press releases and material for journalists. It opens in a new tab.
Chat links only to pages that exist
When the chat on our site, on the sample analysis or on your customer page points you to one of our pages, the link now always goes to a page that exists. For example, a Danish answer that mentioned a translated address for the prices page now links to the prices page itself. The chat no longer shows links to other websites, and in the chat on our site the links to our pages can be clicked.
Chat answers the question you ask, in your language
The chat on our site, the chat on the sample analysis and the chat on your customer page now answer in the language you write in, for example Danish, German, French or Spanish. Questions about terms such as the Wilson interval get an explanation of that term, and the text about how we show quotes, with the analysis quotes, only appears when you ask about quotes or posts.
Method page: micro-analyses explained
The method page has a new section on micro-analyses: the short online mood measurements we publish on social media about the comments under a few specific posts. It explains what their results apply to and that the same rules apply as in our full analyses.
Public Mood is in beta: get free beta access
The front page now shows that Public Mood is in beta, with a button to get free beta access. It takes you to the free analysis request: one free first analysis per email domain, delivered within 3 working days. Our other public pages show a slim beta message at the top, which you can hide with the × button.
Read the site in your language
A language selector now sits in the header (in the menu on a phone) on our public pages. Pick a language and the page is translated by Google Translate. It is not on the customer area, the login page, embedded charts or PDFs. The privacy page explains what the selector loads and stores.
Support form: your email comes first
On the support page, the email field now sits above the message box, so you give us your address before you write your message.
Free analysis: a safe link to set your password
When we approve your free analysis request, you get one email, "Your analysis has started". It has the expected delivery date and a one-time link to set your own password, so you can follow the status on your customer page. The link works once and is valid for 48 hours. If it has expired, choose Send me a new link on the login page.
Easier to tap: larger Get it free and menu buttons
The Get it free button and the menu button in the header are now at least 44 pixels tall, so they are easier to tap on a phone.
Glossary is now in the menu and linked from your analysis and PDF
The glossary is now in the About menu and in the header of your customer page. Your analysis links to the full glossary below its short glossary, and the PDF names the address (publicmood.io/glossary/) under its glossary.
New glossary of sentiment analysis terms
We added a glossary with plain definitions of the terms used in online sentiment analysis, such as critical share, baseline, 95% interval and clear change, and how Public Mood uses each one. You can search the glossary from the top of the page. The terms in the report glossary now link to it.
Embed charts and tables on your own website
Subscription plans now have an Embed tab in each delivered analysis. Pick a chart or a table, press Activate embed, choose a light or dark theme and whether to include the method section and the word explanations, then copy the code into your website or article. Each embed has its own public link that only works after you activate it, and you can revoke it at any time. Embeds open with the analysis conclusion as one big number with an arrow for the direction, use the logos of the platforms in your analysis, and work in both themes. Charts and bars animate when they scroll into view (not for visitors who prefer reduced motion), hovering or tapping shows the exact numbers, the events listed in your analysis are marked on the mood curve, and visitors can download any embed as an image with the logo and source line. They adapt to every screen size, from phone to desktop. Every embed shows a Source: Public Mood line with our logo that links to publicmood.io. The single analysis does not include embeds.
Delivery mail names your analysis and points to the Media pickup check
The mail we send when your analysis is ready now has your analysis title in the subject and in its first line. It also has a short section about the Media pickup check on your customer page, with a button to log in and set it up. The check only runs once you add your article link.
"Scheduled updates" is now "Media pickup check"
The tool on your customer page that re-checks whether media have picked up your article has a new name, because the old one sounded as if the analysis itself was updated. It does not update the analysis and is not live monitoring. The three options now read "Check again after 48 hours", "Check daily for a week" and "Check every 3 days for a month", and the same names are used in the PDF report, on the status page and in our chat assistant.
Delivered orders link straight to your analysis
On your customer page, an ordered analysis now changes from Received to In progress when we start the work, and to Delivered when we have approved the analysis and sent you the delivery mail. Once an order is Delivered, its topic becomes a link that opens your interactive analysis with charts, tables, the method section and the PDF download. The order list also refreshes by itself after a status change.
Clearer wording about your customer page
The privacy policy now says your anonymised analyses stay available on your customer page while your subscription is active. Our chat assistant also gives more accurate answers about ordering, logging in, and how to make a privacy complaint. The sample analysis, the demo chat and the How it works page now also say customer page throughout.
Up to three quotes in reports
A report can now show up to three short anonymous quotes: one supportive, one neutral and one critical. Each is chosen by a fixed rule, not by likes, and next to it we state how large its group is. A quote is only shown when it fits its group, so a report can show fewer than three, and when no quote fits a group we show none. Before, a report showed at most one critical and one supportive quote.
Easier-to-read lists in reports
Bullet points in the analysis and the PDF now have a little more space between them, so they are easier to read.
Clearer explanation of the 95% interval
The glossary in our reports now explains the 95% interval more precisely: it shows the statistical uncertainty in a share among the analysed posts, and it does not cover every source of error.
Clearer wording in the FAQ and method text
We reworded parts of the FAQ, the method page, the guide and the sample analysis so they say plainly that Public Mood is an online mood reading and does not describe what the public in general thinks. The method page now also explains the 95% intervals, and charts of post volume are labelled as volume.
Simpler menu and breadcrumbs
Compare and Method now live under a new About menu, together with About us. Pages deeper in the site, such as the comparisons, the guide and the topic pages, now show where you are with a small breadcrumb trail.
Email when your analysis starts
When we approve your analysis request, you now get a short email with the expected delivery date and a link to your customer page.
Orders in progress before delivered analyses in your overview
In the overview at the top of your customer page, orders in progress now come before delivered analyses.
Clearer section names on your customer page
The section for requested analyses is now called Ordered analyses, next to Delivered analyses.
Your company name and orders in progress first
Your customer area now shows your company name under your name, and Orders in progress now come before Delivered analyses.
Period choice when requesting an analysis
The request form in your customer area now has the same period choice as the free analysis: last 30 days, from a specific event, or a specific period. Dates can go up to 365 days back.
New page for football journalists, and a Topics menu
We added a page about fan sentiment analysis for football journalists. The topic pages, Trump analysis and Football analysis, now sit together under a new Topics menu in the top navigation.
Simpler signup for The Weekly Mood
Signing up for The Weekly Mood is now simpler: enter your email and accept the Terms and Privacy policy. The extra opt-in checkbox is gone.
Clearer period and optional keywords when requesting an analysis
When you request a new analysis in your customer area, you now choose a start date and an end date. The start date can be at most 365 days back and the end date at most today. The keywords field is now optional.
Support tab and clearer forms in the customer area
The customer area has a new Support tab with a form for questions about analyses, orders, your login or your subscription. Clicking the logo now takes you to the front page without logging you out. The form for requesting a new analysis and the support form both require accepting the Terms and the Privacy policy, and the note about delivery within 3 working days now sits right under the Send request button.
Clearer customer login email and login page
The login email you receive after your purchase is now a nicely formatted email with clickable links, and it reminds you to keep it because it contains your login details. The login page now links to our contact page if you lose your customer ID or password.
Sample analysis quotes updated
The sample analysis now shows two short quotes, one critical and one supportive, each with the size of its group across the whole period. Quotes are illustrations, not proof, and the method section now says so.
Newsletter signup requires accepting the terms
The newsletter signup now has a required checkbox to accept the Terms and the Privacy policy, on the website and in the chat assistant.
Terms moved to the Konsulentbixen legal page
The Public Mood terms are now a dedicated section on the Konsulentbixen legal page, after the general terms, and the footer links there. Links to the old terms page forward to the new section.
Contact forms: accept Terms and Privacy policy
Both contact forms now have a required checkbox where you confirm that you have read and accept the Terms and the Privacy policy before you can send.
Privacy policy: how long we keep account data
The privacy policy now states that account and billing data is kept while your subscription is active and for as long as the law requires afterwards, and that your anonymised analyses stay on your customer page during that time.
Renewal terms clarified
Plans renew automatically for the same period. You are responsible for cancelling in time: cancel by email up to 30 days before the renewal date. We do not send a renewal reminder
Newsletter signup shown once on the front page
The Weekly Mood signup now appears once on the front page. The footer signup stays on all other pages
Public changelog
This page lists what changes on Public Mood and when, newest first

Monthly analysis allowance and The Weekly Mood newsletter
Analyses in a plan are added on the 1st of each month. The full monthly number is available straight away when you buy, and unused analyses do not carry over to the next month. The customer page shows what is left and when it resets. The free Weekly Mood newsletter can be joined from the free analysis form and in the chat
Clearer statistics in every analysis
Analyses now show how many posts each figure rests on, a range around each share, and a plain check of whether a change between two periods is clear. Weeks with too few posts get no verdict. Key terms have short explanations you can open in place
Terms of service and privacy policy pages
Our terms of service and privacy policy are now published on the site and linked in the footer
Donald Trump analysis page
A new page describes our analysis of Donald Trump's speeches and online conversation, with a note on political neutrality. It is linked in the main menu
